| Name: Leon Bartholomew Samael Meaning: Samael is the name of an important archangel in Talmudic and post-Talmudic lore, a figure who is accuser, seducer and destroyer, and has been regarded as both good and evil. The etymology of this name is a combination of 'sam', meaning "poison/venom", and 'el', meaning "of God"; thus it means the "poison of God". Evolutionary Anomaly Class: Temporal/Spatial Pherokinesis - the ability to influence the emotions of others through the emission of mind-influencing pheromones. This is a completely subconscious ability that Leon has no actual conscious control over: when he is being friendly and trying to charm someone, the pheromones he emits grease the skids for him; conversely, when he is angry and emotionally unstable, those around him have a very difficult time keeping themselves calm as well. This ability has a very limited degree of influence over animals; mostly primates. Other mammals such as canines and felines are not affected at all. Human beings with particularly strong wills can resist the invasive influence of Leon's pheromones, but most individuals have no defense whatsoever against this dangerous power. |

| From his earliest years Leon has been raised as a media creation, and it shows. In public he is very proper and polished, with a charisma that seems to win over anybody and a natural knack for oratory. He's easygoing, humble, and about as wholesome a poster boy as you could ask for. But on a personal level, he's a far cry from the clean-cut, all-American image he portrays: he has an explosive temper and can be brooding and sullen when under pressure. Samael is very manipulative and duplicitous; his natural charm and unique ability have worked in tandem to give him pretty much anything he's ever set his sights upon. He exhibits some degree of dissociation; he views 'special' people as animals who don't deserve to be regarded as human beings, and can change his opinion of a person at seemingly a whim just by learning that they have powers. Despite his relatively happy life with his adopted father, Leon is fixated on the death of his biological one. He is convinced that his true father was murdered by one of the "Specials" he wrote about, and is secretly obsessed with finding and stopping evolved human beings, by any means necessary. He has knowledge of and contacts within the Company, and is rumored to have a connection to the Linderman Group as well. |
